Nino & Mya at Sarius is a contemporary Afro-futurist pasta bar and restaurant located within the Sarius Palmetto Botanical Garden in Maitama, Abuja. Develop International was commissioned to provide architectural and interior design services, creating a distinctive dining destination that complements its natural surroundings while establishing itself as a world-class culinary experience in the heart of the city.

Concept

The design concept was inspired by the fusion of Afro-futurist design language and contemporary hospitality trends, creating a bold yet elegant destination that feels both innovative and deeply connected to its environment. The project sought to celebrate African creativity through modern forms, materials, and spatial experiences.A central design objective was to ensure that the restaurant enhanced rather than disrupted the surrounding botanical garden.

The building was carefully elevated on stilts, allowing it to touch the landscape lightly while preserving the existing ecology and natural character of the site. This approach minimized environmental impact while creating unique views across the gardens. The result is a restaurant that blurs the boundary between architecture and nature, allowing guests to enjoy a sophisticated dining experience immersed within one of Abuja's most beautiful green environments.
